MADE FOR CONCEALMENT

At Nothing Can Topit we focus on prop management for the discerning magician. Linings are matched when possible to conceal your props. Special tailoring techniques provide additional deception, such as the use of shoulder pads to raise the jacket a bit to account for heavy weight in the pockets. All Topits and pockets are individually tailored to your figure, sewn in by hand, and additional pockets can be added into your performance wear.

One of the principles of physics that I enjoy incorporating into costumes and props is the art of camouflage or disruptive patterning. I prefer patterns that are busy to disguise shapes and what is hidden inside. Some disruptive patterning may be in the form of sequins or shaggy fabrics, others are the pattern itself.

Black art is another principle that is a magician’s friend. Black on black is difficult to see. However, navy on navy or burgundy on burgundy also work with this effect. Lighting is critical. The fabric must be opaque to be effective.
